It’s official! Jody Dean, long-time host of 98.7 FM KLUV morning drive program and BBQ aficionado, will return as the host and emcee of the Fourth Annual Dallas Kosher BBQ Championship. Jody’s familiar voice will be heard throughout the event as he heads up the celebrity judging panel and serves as host for our eating contests between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 29th. Mr. Dean is returning to the event for the fourth year in a row.
A Fort Worth native, Dean has been on the air or behind the scenes in Metroplex radio or television since 1980. Among his many credits, he has been the main public address announcer for
Dallas Cowboys home games, held down the anchor desk on CBS 11, and currently can be heard Monday through Friday as the morning show lead on 98.7 KLUV along with his morning team. For his numerous achievements, Dean was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2006. He has also won an Emmy, and been named “Best Talk Show Host” by the Dallas Business Journal. Dean is the author of “Finding God in the Evening News: A Broadcast Journalist Looks Beyond The Headlines” and is a frequent motivational and inspirational speaker.
