It’s official! He’s BACK!   We’re excited to say that Jody Dean, long-time former host of 98.7 FM KLUV’s morning drive, radio and TV personality and BBQ aficionado, will return as the host and emcee of the Sixth Annual Dallas Kosher BBQ Championship. Jody’s familiar voice will be heard throughout the event as he heads up the celebrity judging panel.  Mr. Dean is returning to the event for the sixth year in a row.

A Fort Worth native, Dean has been on the air or behind the scenes in Metroplex radio or television since 1980. Among his many credits, he has been the main public address announcer for Dallas Cowboys home games, held down the anchor desk on CBS 11, and for many years hosted the morning drive on KLUV.  Jody now does his show, “Dusty Attics” as a podcast and you can find it, and more, on his website

For his numerous achievements, Dean was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2006. He has also won an Emmy, been named “Best Talk Show Host” by the Dallas Business Journal, and is the author of “Finding God in the Evening News: A Broadcast Journalist Looks Beyond The Headlines”.   Dean is a frequent motivational and inspirational speaker as well, and can be found lending his talents to many great events and causes in the DFW Metroplex.

The Dallas Kosher BBQ Championship is presented to the community by the Men’s Club of Congregation Beth Torah and will be held on Sunday, October 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission and parking are free; food and beverages will be available for purchase.
